For fifteen years, Central Coast Lean has gathered improvement practitioners every April on the Central Coast. This year we're doing something different. No April summit in 2026. Instead: the California Improvement Summit — August 30 – September 1, 2026, in San Luis Obispo, CA.

California presents genuinely distinctive improvement challenges — regulatory complexity, workforce diversity, fragmented improvement wins that never find each other. The question driving this gathering:

How do we make continuous improvement Easier, Better, and Faster across California's organizations over the next decade?

This is not a conference. No keynotes, no slide decks. Thirty practitioners in a room, working together through a shared problem-solving process — and leaving with clearer thinking, stronger connections, and real commitments.

Optional Add-On: Monday Evening Reception — Center of Effort Winery

After a full working day at the Octagon Barn, we’ll close Monday evening at one of the Central Coast’s finest estate wineries.

Center of Effort Winery sits in the southern foothills of the Edna Valley AVA, about 15 minutes from the Octagon Barn. It is a 100-acre working estate — vineyards, orchard, and a striking contemporary hospitality center that opened in 2019 — pouring 100% estate-grown, SIP-certified wines: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Rhône varieties that regularly earn 93–96-point ratings.

No agenda. No slides. Just the people from the room, good wine, and the kind of conversation that tends to happen when the day’s work is behind you. Significant others are welcome. Guest/plus-one ticket purchase is available as an add-on for $50 each when registering under the Events tab.
